Organization and Persistence Pay Off in One Big Deduction
A Maryland woman, Lori Singleton-Clarke, prevailed in federal tax court last month, opening the door for taxpayers seeking to deduct their MBA tuition expenses. Even more amazing is that Ms. Singleton-Clarke did it all on her own, acting as her own counsel against the IRS' tax attorneys.

The lessons to be learned from Ms. Singleton-Clarke's experience?
Kudos to Ms. Singleton-Clarke for showing that persistence and doing one's homework pays.
- Be organized.
- Be respectful.
- Do your homework.
- Never give up.

Sharing the Good News
Ok so the US dollar is in the tanker, the economy is recovering at a snail's pace, Congress is spending money like its water, and most of the US is freezing thanks to global warming (or climate change -- or whatever the heck that is). Judging by the headlines in the news, there's not much good news out there.
Still there is good news out there -- in the form of good people, good things and good thoughts. My New Year's resolution is not just to keep it to myself...but to share it on my blog!
Let's start with some funny news....
Maybe the Democrats and the Republicans could learn a little about diplomacy from Shaq, who turns a potentially embarassing moment into a fun opportunity to "spread the love..."

Finally, before I sign off on my first post...I'd like to end with a cool quote:
It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through. - Zig Ziglar
